Adelaide Cabaret Festival in Australia

In June of 2010, we'll trade summer for winter when we head to OZ to perform in the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. No concrete details, but if anyone plans on being in Australia next June, come out and see us do our thing. Check out the official website

DOGFIGHT is commissioned by Lincoln Center Theater

We’re excited to announce that our new musical, DOGFIGHT, has been commissioned by Lincoln Center Theater. It’s a piece we’ve been working on for the past two years, and we’re thrilled that LCT is giving it a cozy home where we can continue to develop it. We’re collaborating with a wonderful playwright, Peter Duchan, and we’re guided by the fantastic direction of Joe Calarco. We’re planning on having a reading of the show in mid-December. Keep your eyes peeled!

Johnny and the Sprites get FOUR Emmy Noms...

Go Johnny Tartaglia and everybody who worked on The Disney Channel's Johnny and the Sprites. It was just nominated for FOUR Emmy awards, including best show! We were series songwriters and we're so freakin' proud to be a part of this awesomeness!

Here is the first song we wrote for the show called "I Just Can't Get Enough." It was the series premiere and warns about the dangers of playing too many video games and neglecting outside time! Check it out!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Festival

Hiya. We're in the middle of writing a new show called DOGFIGHT: A Love Story. Our bookwriter on the project is a great young playwright named Peter Duchan. Peter, along with some of his friends at Northwestern began a theater company in the city called The New Bar Theatre, and on Tuesday night, they had a benefit...So when asked, of course we agreed to take part and sing a couple tunes. Here are few videos from Tuesday night.

The two of us singing "Giant World" from Johnny and the Sprites

Here is an actual video of "Giant World" when it aired on The Disney Channel

Edges at Elon

We had such a fun/obese time traveling this week to North Carolina/Florida. It started with the two of us heading to LaGuardia Airport where we ate nasty but DELICIOUS McDonald's bacon, egg and cheese biscuits. It was the beginning of a three day fattathon for me (Benj), but I didn't know that when I began this trip down to Elon University in beautiful, sunny NC.

They're doing our show EDGES there next week, and we came to work with some of the students. When we arrived, we came into a class and everyone was belting out our song "Like Breathing."

It sounded really fantastic. Phew... You never know when you travel to a random school if everyone will be amazing, or really bad - but these guys were all SO good. They are doing our show with 16 people in the cast - it's usually done with four, so we were nervous - but you know what? It worked very well. It gave such power to the vocal harmonies and kept the pace moving swiftly. It was totally unlike any version we had seen, and we loved it.

After working all day with the students, we hit the streets. Though not a large town, Elon is very charming, with beautiful fields, ponds and local stores - and to Justin's delight, it has a Chick-fil-A.
I learned all about the chain Chick-fil-A on this trip. Boy oh boy do Christian people love a Chick-fil-A. It was started by a nice Christian man, and the entire chain is SHUT DOWN on Sundays. Plus, the staff are the most overly-friendly people in the entire world. They bring you mints and give you free refills at your table...plus, the food, especially the chicken
nuggets, are really really good too - so I approve. Oh, and our hotel, called The Acorn Inn, had a jacuzzi in every room. Freakin' Paradise.

Justin headed out after our first day to go down to Naples, Florida to music direct a concert for Andrea McCardle - the original Annie. He got a three bedroom condo on the beach for the week, so I kind of hate him a little bit, but I had a great time in NC, so it was all good.

I just chilled out at Elon for two more days and completely tricked myself into believing that I was still in college. I ate so many mozzarella sticks, drank so many Stellas, lost three times at Foosball, and discovered the joys of a fast food joint called "Cook Out" - which is sort of like a better version of In-N-Out Burger. I also participated in the Elon University "Earth Day Cabaret." I went to a Quaker school, so I love hippy stuff like that. I sang in a trio performing "Big Yellow Taxi" by Joni Mitchell. We did our part to save the earth through the power of sweet vocal harmonies!!!

On the way to the airport on Thursday, I made my new friends turn off the highway so I could try Bojangles, which is a fried chicken/biscuit/sweet tea chain. Needless to say, I'm sure I'm on the fast track toward diabetes after three days of insane gorging. Anyway, we had a blast and are sending thanks to everyone at Elon and hoping they break legs opening EDGES next week! Woohoooo!!!

Jason Forbach CD/A Mention in the NYPost

This great singer Jason Forbach asked if he could record our song "Part of a Painting" for a CD he put together called "A New Leading Man." He sounds great on the track and he just got a great review from the New York Post - and they mention our names!
